Call for poster papers

We invite contributions for posters which will be accepted on the basis of technical Content. Poster presentations will include a short (2 minute) oral introduction, one PP slide – posters will be located inside the PHOTONEX exhibition for maximum exposure and impact.

Topics may include (but are not limited to):

Power scaling diode lasers to high-brightness kW systems
Coherent phase-locking of high-power laser diodes
Design considerations for high-power external cavity laser diodes
Visible and long wavelength high-power laser diodes and their applications
High-brilliance diode lasers for spectral beam combination
Laser diodes optimised for external cavity operation
The role of external optical feedback
Reliability of external cavity laser diodes
Beam combining approaches for high-brightness direct diode laser systems
Diode laser platforms for multi-kw applications
Outlook for volume manufacturing of high-brightness laser diode systems
Advances in diode pumped solid state lasers
Applications for diode laser technology in:  Industrial & Material Processing, Healthcare & Biophotonics, Displays, Energy, Aerospace and Security.

Paper Submission: Please send email to and quote “Paper submission/High Power Lasers” in the subject line. Please provide a 2-page poster paper. To prepare your paper, please use the following template which is an excerpt from the IEEE Transactions template:

Information on Poster Presentations

Posters accepted for this year’s event will be allocated a board in the main exhibition area, where they can be viewed by all delegates attending HPDLS and PHOTONEX 2017. You will be notified in advance of your poster board number.

Posters must not exceed A0 portrait size (1189mm high x 841mm wide). Velcro tape will be provided on the day.

Posters may be displayed from 10.00am on the 11th October (the poster session is provisionally 4pm to 5.30pm). All posters must be removed by 4pm on 12th October.

Poster authors should be in attendance by their poster between 4pm and 5.30pm on the Wednesday.

Please note that the above timings are provisional and subject to change – please check this page regularly in the run up to this event.
